CLAUSE 11
11. PROPOSED BANNING OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY

That it be a recommendation to the constituent bodies, that the banning of any political party, however distasteful their views, is contrary to the principles of freedom of assembly
and freedom of expression. We are, therefore, of the opinion that each of the three constituent bodies should oppose any legislation proposing the banning of the Communist Party.

Secretary Stout moved - THAT clause 11 be received.

Delegates A. Bendall and 1. Connell moved -
THAT this item be adjourned until the first business after the Minutes at the next meeting.

Vice-President Horan and Delegate R.A. Gordon moved - THAT Council now adjourn.

Original Format

Type-written minutes.
